NOOMA DVD #5 Noise

This NOOMA DVD explores why we are so uncomfortable with silence. It is so much easier for us to fill our lives with meaningless activities and noise. We are constantly being affected by the mindless movies, videogames, and music that we engage with. We feel a need to have a full schedule of activities and if we have any free time then we need to be entertained by some new technology. Maybe there is a connection between the amount of noise in our lives and our incapacity to hear God. Maybe if we feel distant from God, it is not because God is not trying to talk to us, instead we simply aren't listening because we are so focused on the noise in our lives.

NOOMA DVD #6 - Noise

This NOOMA DVD explores the endless consumerism that has swept over our society. No matter how many possessions we have, we always think that we need more in order for us to be happy. However, most of the time when we get that new possession that we were longing for so much, we realize that it wasn't that great after all. Other times we ask God for things and if God doesn't deliver right away we think God doesn't care about us. What we should really be asking is if we actually trust God. Do we actually believe that God knows what's best for us? Do we believe that God sees the entire picture of our lives when we only see a small fragment? It is too easy for us to yearn for instant gratification when God actually knows what is best for us and we may just be blind to this fact.

NOOMA DVD #7 - Noise

This NOOMA DVD looks at the place of forgiveness in our world. We have all had friends or loved ones that have hurt us through betrayal or dishonesty. We all have pain that we carry around with us from past relationships and sometimes we take this pain with us for years at a time. It is extremely difficult to forgive someone that caused this much pain to us, and often we end up seeking vengeance instead of forgiveness. However, vengeance doesn't satisfy anyone, it only makes the situation worse. Forgiveness is the only way for the victim to become truly at peace with the situation, as well as the transgressor. God did not create us to carry around the pain of past relationships, instead God wants us to forgive each other so that we can become free, and that is what #7 NOOMA DVD is all about.

.......NOOMA DVD #8 - Noise........

This NOOMA DVD looks at the purpose of our lives. We want to know if our lives are really important and if our religious experience is actually relevant to our current life. We want to understand the meaning of how each day, month, and year is significant to our lives and what kind of an impact this has on our world. We want a God that cares about the current time and is present in our lives right now. We want to understand the meaning behind everything we do, our friendships, our work, and our interactions with others. We want to know if the decisions we make today are actually affecting the future and if they will affect our eternal lives. We strive to give our lives significance today, but we also want our lives to be significant forever, and t hat is what #3 NOOMA DVD is all about.

NOOMA DVD #4- Sunday

This NOOMA DVD looks at how God loves and believes in all of us. Often the question is if we believe in God, however, it is also important for us to know that God believes in us. God believes that we can people of love, peace, forgiveness, and hope even when we see ourselves as hopeless sinners. However, we need to not get caught up in the trap of feeling inadequate because God made us all “in his image” and God loves us more than we can ever know.
